One of the signs of American decadence is that it’s unfair to judge people for their conduct.
I would distinguish between the stakes of the big events happening around us and how we treat each other — whether we moralize and raise the stakes in small personal interactions.

Half the amount that everyone currently pays could provide universal healthcare. Private health companies don’t need to exist. Eliminate them. And use your collective buying power and economies of scale to get it done. Every cent of their profit is healthcare denied.

If I had a nickel for a bald white guy on Bluesky who ignored the purpose of doge I would have two nickels, which is not a lot but weird it’s happened twice.

Why would you assume this?
My hottest take is that Weiss fucked up the story less out of direct political motivation than out of the pattern of incompetent management everywhere: insisting on changes to something at the last minute in order to demonstrate your authority and make it seem as if you have something to contribute.
