I really, truly, deeply hate doomerism. Especially when people feel the need to reply to someone else finding any sort of joy in life just to complain and say none of it matters. Treating the situation as hopeless only empowers fascism. Yes, things are bad, but we need joy if we are to survive.

Oof. Yeah, biodiesel is marketed as a way to recycle leftover cooking oils, but if they're just using new vegetable oil, it defeats the purpose.
