I think that most E2EE apps are not used due to UX problems and features. Signal has a great compromise between usability and security. But totally understand that missing history rollback (retrieve chat from cloud) and still having notification issues (which improved) still detracts people. (1/2)

Couldn't agree more with this. The main reason why truly E2EE apps like #signalapp are important. No third-party should have access to my consensual idiotic talks with my close friends, because without context anything can be perceived as something it isn't.
i can't express enough how important it is to your mental wellbeing to have one or more friends, ideally a small group chat, that you can go to when you need to be mean as fuck about something in an extremely petty unfair hater-ass way. you HAVE to have a safe place to be a bitch or you'll go insane
