Question for autistic people (or, truly, anyone who might relate): I frequently see autistic people having trouble with appearing remote/unemotional, but does anyone struggle with consistently being read as *more* emotional than they're actually feeling?

No-one knows what psychiatric diagnostic criteria, classifications and categories will be in the future. They have changed considerably in my lifetime and are likely to change in the future. It is a potentially precarious enterprise to base one’s identity upon a diagnosis.

I feel like like a three-year research-focused master + working in academia (albeit not as an "academic" per se, still close enough) has absolutely destroyed my ability to read fiction (this tweet has no particular point, I am just complaining)

I often feel a bit weird around autistic spaces, because on the one hand I am technically "late-diagnosed" as autistic specifically, but on the other I was diagnosed as dyspraxic and "neurodevelopmentally disabled" in early childhood so I can't really relate to the whole narrative of "Suddenly all-

When people give you advice, they're mostly giving advice to themselves or some fictionalized version of their younger selves. Age alone gives no insight about you as an individual and your circumstances, so basically my advice as a 30+ is: don't take advice from me or anyone based on age.

I am very excited to see so many people getting back into the Sims 2. It's a genuinely beautiful, multi-layered game, very different from the following installments (the Sims 4, especially, is a completely different game - and in my opinion a bad one).
