I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

i worry cuomo is going to win because new yorkers love electing the guy who is most incapable of sounding normal. the other candidates should be out in front of their constituents every day saying stuff like "i enjoy my sliced pies in the old fashioned style. that's right, cheesed and extra juicy"

respectfully, this has less to do with informing voters and more to do with democrats only being interested in advancing their own interests
we can keep telling ourselves that democratic voters are more informed than their gop counterparts but the biggest liberal city in america is on the verge of electing andrew cuomo as its mayor.
