I agree with the whole thread, but I want to talk about vinyl because it is an interesting area with manufacturing constraints that also leads to high prices that people, without context or bad faithism, will assume just gouging.

There are people who would love to sell you shit at prices you are willing to pay. They organize themselves into groups we call companies who try to buy the subcomponents from other companies. Those other companies would love to sell than those parts too. But they can't make enough.

As we are doing another round of “is Gavin Newsom the preordained devil of the 2028 primary?” I want to remind people that a lot can and will happen between now and the primaries. No value comes from screaming about it now.

The US and Canada have several cross border sports leagues (mlb, nhl, etc). Europe has the Champions league to take teams from various leagues and play a cross border league. Are there other examples?

If the players want to change the schedule, the top players are going to need to do more of this. Sacrifice points and money forcing the ATP and WTA to deal with their top tournaments not having their top players.

This is a repeat of Super Bowl XX. The Patriots face a team with a great defense, strong running game and an adequate passing game and they get embarrassed.

I expect a 10,000% increase in fake claims against other peoples' dogs.
I do not have a Ring camera but I absolutely would not turn on a feature where other people can co-opt it for their own purposes even if it is stated purpose of "help find lost animals."

What's really interesting about this is that the NFL is simply acting like a capitalist entity rather than a rent seeking one. They did this because they want to make greater inroads into Spanish speaking markets. They recognize that they have to take action to make this happen.
Musically this halftime show did nothing for me, which doesn't distinguish it much from most halftime shows. But I cannot believe that we get the NFL in the Woke Wars*.
