Chicago based ex-academic who spends most of his time taking pictures of his dog. She is evil, and I love her. I’m never really sure if I’m doing things right, but I’m still here and still trying.
Do NOT look up how many albums they’ve released.

My mother, the immigrant, loves Christmas more than her American kids. She was raised Muslim, but loves Christmas. Her kids: meh. It’s whatever.

Patton Oswalt has a bit about having a new kid and his parents coming to visit and that the unconscious reasoning behind all their nitpicking is to justify their own parenting of him.

The Venn diagram of really attuned to politics, on SNAP, and understanding the larger implications of the agreement is quite small. I can believe one person is a Never Nude, maybe even dozens, but not much more than that.

To me victory is make them fully own it. Don’t give them a coat of respectability by having a vote on the subsidies that won’t pass but makes it seem like they are engaging in bipartisanship.

Endlessly remind ppl they control the federal government and they chose all this human suffering.

They’ve locked themselves into permanent hostage taking harm reduction response.

The harm they are reducing is VERY important. But there’s gonna be another hostage in 2.5 months minimum and there’s little evidence they aren’t just gonna do some version of the same thing.

Due to their delusions about being adults who make hard choices. I empathize with a strategy focused on harm reduction, but it is fully reactionary. It is never proactive. Even assuming their intentions were noble, they have sacrificed the well being of millions. Fuck em. Primary them all.

In order to open the government and restore SNAP. They are basically admitting that they don’t think they can ever win and they’re only ever there to prevent R’s from doing the worst possible thing. They are not adults. They are marks. The long term result is the American people suffer…5/x

Millions of people will now go without health care, or go into extreme debt because of their healthcare, or possibly even die due to a lack of healthcare. The defectors (or the entire caucus if this was coordinated, I take no position on that) see their adult choice here as accepting that…4/x

Preventing a further harm. I believe Senate Dems genuinely see themselves as the adults in the room and that delusion is why they can basically always be counted on to bail R’s out from the consequences of their own actions. Refunding SNAP and the govt is good, but it also means that…3/x
