So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

I remember gawking over the sample new @mbta.com Red Line car at Government Center in 2018. 7 years and a move out of Boston later, I FINALLY got to ride one yesterday and it was AMAZING 🤩 Definitely top ten experiences of the year.

Honest question: at what point is a judge going to say “the US government cannot be trusted to respect the rights of those in its custody” and halt ALL deportations until they are validated by a judge? Is that even a possibility? It’s not perfect, but it might be better.
