It's an attempt to differentiate the centre left from the continued Atlanticism of the centre right EPP.
But the centre-left is almost completely out of power in the EU, with just 3 PM seats in 27-seat 🇪🇺Council.
The combined hard-and-far right (ECR/PfE) has 4 seats. The long-dominant EPP has 10.
