I always thought ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ was overly cynical.

Not nearly cynical enough.

Commentators making a virtue of Sydney Muslim communities denying funeral rites to the perpetrator of the Bondi attack is troubling. Burying the body and performing the funeral prayer are communal obligations on the living. The dead are beyond retribution and the living already abhor his actions.

Because the world needs more women economists, and especially those well-informed in MMT, ecological economics and economic pluralism, as well as (not instead of) econometrics.

I never thought I'd be sharing this in the context of events in Australia. As always, with breaking and fast moving news, these rules (with perhaps the exception of Rule #4) really do apply.

I know it is normal for moneyed interests to have outsize effects on elections but this is just dystopian.
