Stopped reading New Scientist when Earths end became unavoidable, hippie-ish (sustainable lifestyle) with a dream of hopefulness. Food and old objects are all about provenance. Car nut, but design rather than performance.
In a few hours time on the 11th day of the 11th month at 11 o'clock I will stop and reflect. A reflection on the lost generations who died in them and those left behind. Mourning without a grave tears at the heart, that's why the Cenotaph is so impotant to so many.

Living in an Edwardian house and balancing heat and pension payments makes for an interesting time. Fortunately, I cook from scratch, which helps. Must start a volunteer cook thing.

The UK needs a law of "Vehicular homicide" to stop drunks, druggies and just speeding idiots getting away with murder because they use a vehicle , rather than a gun/hammer/ knife.

Hope is the greatest attribute, it fights the despair of lost heroes and seeks light in the darkness.

Living in the ULEZ zone as a lover of automotive design (of all ages) is seriously demoralizing.

the 3 times I have thought the human race is finished were the Tutsi genocide (no resources the developed world wanted), the Srebrenica massacre (complete failure of UN) and now the Gaza genocide (nothing learnt from the Warsaw ghetto). Let the asteroid hit soon.

With the heat rising, I'm currently batch making Gazpacho, using the BBQ roasted peppers which combined with spot on season toms is fantastic. Good way to drink a salad.

Our new report: local political parties are renting out office space to MPs — who claim the cost on expenses.

But in most cases, they pay no tax on that income — or on rent from local businesses.

We reviewed 630 sets of accounts. What we found is a systemic failure. 🧵

Nicol Williamson said in the film Excalibur, "for it's the folly of men that they forget". The lessons of the Warsaw ghetto should be replayed where an occuppied country ghetto was surrounded by a heavily weaponed army.

Well the world is not only turning its back and boycotting goods, but also not getting on planes. I never thought I'd see the Euro as the currency of choice.... Get that lettuce ready.

You have to have a care when turning your back on the world. The world may decide it no longer needs you.

So with Lent I'm not eating meat. M&S Tofu is £2.30 a block whereas a pack of about 10 chicken wings are £1.85 (higher welfare too). Hmmm somethings wrong when an animals life is worth less than soya beans.
