Brings back memories of being presented an award by Julia Neuberger in sixth form many years ago!
Great evening with Julia Neuberger and David Probert co-presenting awards to some of the great people who work at @uclh.bsky.social … my way of saying thanks for great care on several occasions. Special people doing special things in our special NHS

Are you a midwife who has significant experience of using interpreters to discuss mental health with women?

How do you do that effectively? 🤔. Would you be willing to share those experiences and help help shape future good practice recommendations? 🤔

As a new PhD student I'd like to have known:
*Dummies guide to how publishing works
*Academic etiquette incl. how to reach out to those working in similar fields
*What to do during a PhD to give oneself the greatest chance of success in academia at the end of it all
If you are doing a PhD, what kinds of things do you wish you had known in your first year?

Alternatively, if you're faculty and are training PhD students, what kinds of things do you think would have benefited your trainees earlier in their training?

I'm editing a presentation on this topic.

Yesterday: Nigel Farage says Reform UK "will detain and deport absolutely anyone that comes via that route.. Yes, women and children"

Today: Nigel Farage, "Deportation of illegal immigrants, we were not even discussing women and children at this stage. The news reports who said that were wrong"

Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?

Absolutely outrageous that the Taliban claim that Afghanistan is a "place where everyone can live with dignity" and equally outrageous that Farage wants to do a returns deal with them. #LetAfghanGirlsLearn #genderapartheid

Why is Texas limiting midwives’ ability to care for women—especially in rural areas? Silvia Esparza calls on lawmakers to grant midwives full practice authority.

Another View: The state regulation preventing midwives from serving Texas women
Granting certified nurse-midwives full practice authority aligns with conservative principles. It is time for Texas lawmakers to take action.

This is the Home Office behaving exactly as intended:

The visa fees paid by a grieving widower to bring his wife to the UK are kept. Despite the face that she literally died before she made it to UK soil.

We need to rip this broken institution apart.

This is a disaster for maternal health in Afghanistan
Nazanin, a 23-year-old midwife can now only go to work if she is accompanied by a man and carries a mahram card. The man, who is her husband, must remain unemployed to serve as her mahram, and they both must carry a card.

Not the one that you’ve got a cool new Miro board for.
Not the one you heard about on LinkedIn.
Not the one you want to mention on your CV.
