How many times do we have to hear “this shouldn’t be happening in a functional democracy” before we realize in we are on fact NOT living in a functional democracy. That’s why this stuff happens, our democracy is broken.

Remembering that some people were insisting that Trump birthday card to Epstein was fake because Trump is too stupid to use the word “enigma”.

Look what they did to Notepad. Shut the fuck up. This is Notepad. You are not welcome here. Oh yeah "Let me use Copilot for Notepad". "I'm going to sign into my account for Notepad". What the fuck are you talking about. It's Notepad.

Reading a physical newspaper feels oddly refreshing. The internet has gotten so bad that returning to physical media feels like progress.

Wouldn't the Vegas tunnels be Tesla's opportunity to show their self driving tech is legit? The fact that it still has human drivers is yet another indicator that Tesla is nowhere near full self driving.

Capitalism has reached a point where financial engineering is somehow more profitable than actually making and selling products.
Warner Bros Discovery will separate into two companies by mid-2026

I wonder how this is calculated? Wealthy people are masters of hiding their assets and true wealth. Wealthy people inequality could be even worse that the data suggests.
Well that’s not ideal

It’s still fuck ICE.

Wondering if there’s a BDS style movement but for ICE/CBP. Obviously GEO Group was spawned by Satan himself, but there’s got to be other collaborators that could be hurt by boycotts.

The Trump administration will 100% use the war with Iran as justification for clamping down on domestic protesters. I guess I’ll see you guys in jail soon.

So, what happened to the CyberCab? Wasn’t it supposed to start testing in Austin in June.

I’m genuinely concerned about the conditions in ICE detention centers. There’s stories of overcrowding and poor treatment of detainees starting to come out.
ICE denied U.S. Reps. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) and Jonathan Jackson (D-IL) entry into it’s facility in Chicago.

Is it strange to feel like direct US involvement in Iran is a forgone conclusion. A matter of when and not if.
June 18, 2025 at 5:03 PM
The line is that “the world is safer if Iran does not have nuclear weapons”. I remember when it used to be “the world is safer if Iraq does not have WMDs”. Same playbook all over again.

Reminder that seven Democratic senators voted to confirm Kristi Noem and six Dem senators declined to vote either way.

She was confirmed, 59-34.

The good faith experiment is clearly over, and we need the Democratic senators who didn't stand against her nomination to be loud as hell right now.

Not taking anything away from Senator Padilla because he was treated atrociously

But I JUST want to remind everyone that the Congresswoman LaMonica McIver, a Black woman, was just indicted for just asking questions at an ICE detention center in her state

Keep that same energy of support for her

I think some concrete demands need to start to materialize. ICE agents being in uniform and identifiable should be one of those demands. Dudes are out here in baseball caps and jeans. Unprofessional at a minimum.
YouGov poll, just out: "Should ICE agents be required to wear uniforms while making arrests?"

Yes: 68%
No: 18

“Cleaning up LA” to this fascist administration sounds more like ethnic cleansing and less like law enforcement when people like Stephen Miller speak. He has a disdain for migrants and non-whites. It is not merely an immigration issue to them.
