Every single day I read the news, turn to my husband and yell, "How is this real life?!?" before taking a breath and trying to do my job effectively so we can continue to pay our mortgage even though the entire world is on a crash course with hell 🤷‍♀️

My 13yo son, a child who rarely enters a grocery store, came with me to run an errand today. In the freezer aisle he gasped and went, "wait, Eggo waffles are REAL? I thought they were made up for Stranger Things!"

So anyway they know a lot of stuff but also they don't know some really basic stuff.

Overheard my kids laughing hysterically in the living room. Smiled to myself, then realized the 'funny thing' was my son accidentally running a crayon through the dryer for the second time. ("That's sooooo bad," my daughter squealed as they examined a clump of melted wax.) 🤦‍♀️ #parenting #motherhood

The first two news items I saw today involved the words "bearista cup shortage" and "first trillionaire" so please excuse me while I throw myself into the sun #friday #wtf

My husband doesn't golf. He doesn't watch hockey, football or basketball. He truly only wants to watch the Blue Jays in the World Series and now SportsNet is down while the team that is OWNED BY ROGERS leads the game. This is wild, lol. #BlueJays

Forever amused that a car dealership sends me enthusiastic sales emails on a regular basis. Long weekend? Buy a car! Back to school season? BUY A CAR!!!

Sir, I have bought two (used) cars in my entire life and expect the third purchase to take place around 2035. Sorry, but not really? #beepbeep

My 14yo daughter, who is very smart but terrible at spelling: "Wiener-ie? That's weird, what's that?"

Her 12yo brother, also smart and fortunately, able to spell: "That says winery. It's a WINERY."

Thank you, Multnomah County Library! ♥️

(Fun fact: I spent three summers in Oregon as a tween/teenager. I love it there. The library could not have known this, and yet, here they are, sending love back my way.)
