This takes on a new level of anger with the recent news of his departure.
Some news: Ahead of this week’s devastating layoffs at The Post, a group of deep-pocketed locals approached publisher Will Lewis about acquiring the paper’s local news and sports teams. He ignored them.

Jeff Bezos was once hailed as the ideal billionaire steward of a newspaper—but his recent actions have made clear that it’s time for him to sell The Washington Post.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

The point was never about money…
Before The Washington Post layoffs came down, a group of wealthy D.C. locals approached CEO Will Lewis with a proposal.

This wind is no joke. Woke me up overnight. I’ll be spending my day anxiously watching our ailing oak tree that likes to gift us large branches at random times.
It’s rough out there! Temperatures have continued to fall after sunrise-most of the region now in the teens to around 20.

Wind chills mostly in the single digits to around zero. We may still see numbers dip a bit.

Gusts so far: DC to 48 mph, Dulles 46 mph and 49 mph at BWI. Peak about 10a-3p.

The Washington Post just laid off its entire award-winning photo team. They were our eyes in places we'll never see. It's a horrifying loss at a time when lying governments, propaganda and AI slop are on the rise.

HAS A GRAPHIC VIDEO OF A FEDERAL AGENT KICKING A DOG ON AUTOPLAY

OVER

IN DETAIL

I am now traumatized. I did not ask to see animal brutality today. That is not the way to gain an audience. My god.

Unfollowed. Blocked.

I want a press conference like this at work, plz.
From @acyn.bsky.social (posted on X)

"Reporter: Do any of you have a favorite animal?

Child: My favorite one is a gold snake that can move. It has gold eyes, and it has a super-duper tail…

Reporter: Mr. Mamdani, the second question for you.

Mamdani: Yes. It’s also the golden snake."

☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Welcome to Solar Spring! ☀️
Solar winter, which is the darkest 3 month period of the year is now behind us! Our sun angle is now up to ~30° above the horizon and climbing quickly.
Right now our daylength is about 10 hours and we are gaining about 2 minutes and 40 seconds of light per day!

Could we finally emerge from the ice? 🫠
Might see another quick round of light snow tomorrow evening, followed by frigid temperatures this weekend. BUT! 50s are coming next week and into next weekend, under mostly sunny skies! Heat wave! Much of mid to late month looks fairly mild for this time of year. #RVA #Virginia #Maryland #DC

“Come Downstairs and Say Hello” by @guster.bsky.social. It’s an emotional rollercoaster every time. And with the symphony? Absolutely epic. A core concert memory.
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

One more comment on the Post debacle: this hurts journalism broadly. Good journalists will go do something else. The rest will be fighting for fewer jobs and everyone will earn less. Fewer people will take up the career. The damage done is to the ecosystem, as well as the paper.
