My views:
1. Vaccines work
2. Global warming is man made
3. Nuclear power is safe and green but too expensive and slow to build.
4. Solar and wind power is our best best for a green future
5. IQ is a useful metric. Avg IQ differences between races exist, but likely environmental causes, not genes.
Shit I am trying to get a bit back to BlueSky but the character limit is infuriating once I had gotten used to Notes on Substack.

I stayed on Twitter a long time due to all connections and inertia. But once I left I find that the tech matters a lot for my choice. Substack wins hands down.

Exactly! A constitution is really just a piece of paper unless it is believed in by the people of a country. That belief is determined by the media. Which is why a democracy lives or dies based on the state of its media.
I think I’m going to be thinking about this quote from Gordon Hirabayshi on the walls of the museum for a long time.

The Nazis put up their worst camps like Auschwitz abroad (Poland). And US seems to do the same now with El-Salvador prisons.

Now this isn't entirely new. There is a shameful chapter of doing this with Gitmo. This is America setting up a de-facto Gulag or concentration camp system.

As a Norwegian, what is happening in the US today makes me think of our on traitor Quisling. His party NS committed treason against Norway, and so is Trump and the Republican party. You cannot treat this as Jan 6th yet again and pretend nothing happened. There is a moral hazard in ignoring treason.

Oh this is just hilarious. Anyone who is America's enemies must be celebrating now as the US does more damage to itself than Russia, Islamic terrorists, North Korea, Iran or anyone else could ever have achieved. The Manchurian candidate comrade Krasnov sure paid off for the Kremlin

I long thought Elon Musk and Trump are completely different people. Elon Musk unlike Trump has actually done innovation with his companies as oppose to merely shady deals.

But increasingly it is becoming clear that while Musk is an innovator he is also a fraudster.

Unfortunately not around here so much anymore as I have come to really fall in love with substack. Posts that can be edited and no characters limit!

Also it is a place you can interact with the other side without them dragging the whole thing into the mud as they have done on X

After having spent a lot of time making longer AI videos, I am increasingly skeptical that Hollywood has that much to fear. It is one thing to make a shorter impressive looking demo. It is quite another thing to create something specifically towards a particular vision.

Let me clarify a bit....

Woho I was in a podcast. I have been before but Andrew impressed me with very good reflections, thoughtful questions and analysis.

The topic we discussed is something I struggle a lot about how to think about. There are both an intellectual and emotional dimensions to my view on Trumpers.
In my latest podcast, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak with @erikengheim.bsky.social about the psychology behind MAGA, and why people support Trump. Hope you enjoy!

No policy maker is going to read this, but you might still be interested in joining me in a discussion about what is a realistic solution for peace in Ukraine. What I talk about here is not what I actually want to happen, but what is realistic IMHO.

Science has been political ever since Galileo had to crawl before the Catholic Church for challenging their dogma. It was political when it was used to serve Nazi race science. It was political when physicists spoke out against the Nuclear bomb. Say science isn’t political is absurd. Always has been
Throughout my time as a member of Independent SAGE my colleagues and I have been told much that same thing – that scientist should “stay in their lanes” and that scientists should not share views on the potential ramifications of scientific evidence.

This is what Diddy didn’t get: You have to openly brag about exploiting women and call that “free speech absolutism”. Support Trump and then you will get rewarded and praised for your crimes.

Seriously, we live in a sick world. This sends a terrible message to women

Just one more piece of evidence that Trump is just straight out evil. Then again he has numerous rape accusations against him, got sentenced in a civil court for rape and his first wife testified that he raped her under oath during divorce court. She also died in a suspicious “accident” later.
You can’t make this stuff up. Trump supporters spent the past few years obsessing over an apparent sex trafficking cabal in charge of our country. And yet one of the first things Trump seems to have done, apparently, is push to get the Tates, charged with sex trafficking, released from Romania.

Andrew and Tristan Tate, the online influencers, are facing investigations in Romania and Britain, including accusations of human trafficking and sex crimes.

Now that Elon Musk is increasingly becoming a menace to the free world. What alternatives exist for access to Space that could compete with SpaceX? New Zealand Rocket Lab is one honorable mention. Led by a very charismatic Peter Beck, whom I don't think would betray Ukraine. www.rocketlabusa.com

It was only a matter of time before Elon would betray Ukraine. Social pressure has been against him thus far. But Trump is enabling him to betray Ukraine. If you got Starlink, please consider canceling the subscription. We must stand united against Elon's oligarchy ambitions. Hit him where it hurts

Elon Musk's Grok 3 looks to be amazing but we should not pay to use it because none of his companies should be supported. Also Grok tends to push more conservative talking points. ChatGPT is better in this regard. Even Chinese DeepSeek may be better because they aren't pushing a right-wing agenda

A reminder that Elon did in fact make a standard American Neo Nazi salute. While not the same as Hitler, it was the same as American Nazis. Makes sense given where he lives.

Behinds Elon Musk's geek charms is a mobster. He has done the mobster oligarch dream: He has captured government and now uses that power to pressure other companies into doing business with him. Corporations should to the opposite. Demonstrate you do not want a business leader running government.

I am a Norwegian monarchist, and find it deeply ironic how Americans conservatives being proud of not being monarchy, essentially want Trump to be a King. Not ceremonial monarchy I support but an absolute monarchy where Trump has absolute power like kings of old. Where the king is the law.

Here in Norway there is an increasing realization that Trump is killing NATO we are already starting to make defense alliance deals with other European countries such as the UK.

A new security framework is emerging as US can no longer be trusted as an ally.

Would it not be ironic if we got rid of Trump because his airplane crashed due to his own dismantling of air safety. I think that would be preferable to other innocent people dying in the months to come due to his reckless destruction of US air safety.

Can we please retire this ridiculous notion that the American right ever cared about free speech on Twitter? No, they never cared about free speech. They care about their hate speech being propagated because that is what THEY liked. They are fine censoring others

Minorities and immigrants are indeed overrepresented on crime statistics, but the far-right are overrepresented on the terror statistics, the "overthrow democratic government" statistics, mass murder statistics and more. Combatting the far-right has far higher priority than immigration challenges.
