Another new bill aimed at expediting projects in BC!

Bill 15 would allow cabinet to designate projects "provincially significant" if it believes they would "provide economic, environmental or social benefits to British Columbians" (among other powers)

Like Bill 14, it's a confidence vote #bcpoli

How it started:
We don’t need anything from Canada!

How it’s going:
• Wait, they’re our main source of aluminum?
• Oil too? Seriously?
• Potash? So farms need that?
• They spend billions in tourism?
• They make American cars?
• My house is basically Canadian?
• WTF, we rely on them for electricity?

🇨🇦 Canadian total petroleum liquids production (crude + NGLs) averaged ~5.9 MMbpd in 2024.

That's ~270 kbpd higher year-over-year, making Canada the second largest source of non-OPEC production growth last year behind only the United States.

Does anyone know of analysis that compares price elasticities by economic sector in Canada? A helpful conceptual frame for understanding tariff impacts by sector I think. Anybody doing this?
