This is something anime has a fun advantage with. You see ship bridges in gunbuster, LOGH, gundam etc where they were inspired by nautical bridges with wraparound windows, so you get these crazy 'large multi-level depth structure surrounded by big windows' layouts that are extremely cool and 3D.

positive framing in ttrpg design

So recently, I played a Dragonbane campaign. Something that stuck out to me was that shields in that game have a rule baked into shields: "You can not parry monster attacks."

But, some monster attacks have an exception where you can parry them. So what gives?
