Just a reminder to leave the ol smartphone at home if you’re going near a facility.
"ICE has also purchased spyware in recent weeks that enables it to remotely hack into smartphones and extract data, even if the phones are locked or communication is over encrypted apps."
ICE amps up its surveillance powers, targeting immigrants and antifa
Iris scanners, facial recognition apps, phone-hacking software and cellphone location data are among the agency’s recent technological purchases.

don't worry, Sam Altman is confident that his efforts to eliminate vast numbers of jobs will all just sort of work out for the unemployed, eventually, possibly after they starve to death, which is technically a form of having it work out

Sam Altman Says If Jobs Gets Wiped Out, Maybe They Weren't Even "Real Work" to Start With
Worried that AI will destroy work? Well, Sam Altman asks if you've considered what a farmer from half a century ago thinks of your job, first.

I am so sick of the fucking "AI" companies and their evangelists straight up lying to people.

It doesn't learn. It doesn't understand. It doesn't grow or evolve or think or any of those fucking things, and they either know it or they're delusional.

It's pattern recognition. That's it.

I hesitate to even post this on the kind of platform fueling the crisis we're in.

It's almost certainly futile, as the algorithms don't want anyone to hear this kind of sentiment - which is a big part of the problem.

Democrats have convinced themselves that they've mastered this 5-D electoral chess strategy where they sacrifice small out-groups in the hopes of appealing to centrist voters.

Giving the government the authority to un-person any group of people always turns into a fascist nightmare for everyone.

weren't we NOT blowing up rockets, like, 50 years ago. weren't we successfully sending rockets up that did not rattle apart. also weren't we like "ah yeah that was a fail" when the rocket fell apart instead of calling it a "partial success"
