This Congress, there's been a disturbing rise in the use of dehumanizing anti-trans rhetoric, including slurs, by US Representatives.

That's why today, @mcbride.house.gov & @repmarktakano.bsky.social led 213 Members demanding Speaker Johnson condemn this rhetoric & enforce House rules of decorum.
This year, Republicans held more than 15 anti-LGBTQI+ votes on the House floor.

“How many bills did they vote on to meaningfully address the cost of living?” You might be asking.

Answer: NONE.
December 26, 2025 at 4:23 PM
Every time the GOP has brought anti-LGBTQI+ bills & amendments for a vote this year, we've always had more members on the House floor speaking out in opposition than the GOP has had speaking in support.

Our members will not stand by silently when our community is under attack.

OTD in 2010, President @barackobama.bsky.social signed the #DontAskDontTellRepealAct, protecting the right of openly-LGB troops to serve.

This milestone is worth celebrating, but we cannot fully celebrate until Trump's trans military ban is overturned & ALL servicemembers are protected.

CMS's proposed regulations to further limit trans youths' access to care are discriminatory, hypocritical, and most importantly—do not yet have the force of law or do anything to resolve the Republican Healthcare Crisis.

Young transgender people & their parents are the only ones who should make decisions about their healthcare—not politicians.

We strongly condemn this bills’ passage and urge our colleagues in the Senate to block it.

Instead of lowering costs for 22M Americans facing higher health care premiums, Republicans are targeting transgender kids. My family—and the entire trans community—deserves better. 🏳️‍⚧️

🚨BAD BILL ALERT🚨
The House has begun debate on a bill banning Medicaid funds for young transgender peoples' medical care—overriding parents’ & families’ rights to make their own private medical decisions.

We urge the House to defeat this bill.

One of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s last Congressional actions is to attack trans kids. That’s shameful.

Her bill would throw doctors and parents in prison for providing evidence-based care to trans kids.

I trust parents and doctors to do what is right for their kids. I voted NO on HR3492.

Instead of working to lower premiums and health care costs, Republicans are more worried about throwing parents and doctors of transgender youth in jail.

No parent should fear prosecution for trying to get their kid the care they need.

I was a kid once. And my biggest regret in life is that I never got a childhood without pain.

Politicians should never insert themselves into the personal health care decisions of patients, parents, and their providers—and that includes trans Americans.

Republicans have hit a new & disgusting low with Marjorie Taylor Greene's bill that would put parents & doctors in jail for providing gender affirming healthcare.

Trans kids deserve support, love, & care that affirms their needs, not cruel, despicable attacks on their existence.

GOP priorities could not be clearer.

Millions of Americans are currently seeing a shutdown of their health care AND the Speaker is putting extreme bills on the House floor that would limit reproductive freedoms and jail parents & doctors for helping trans youth access evidence-based medical care.

House Republicans just voted to CRIMINALIZE providing medically-necessary healthcare for young trans people—threatening parents & doctors with a DECADE in prison.

We urge our colleagues in the Senate to block this dangerously harmful bill!

If House Republicans want to “protect the innocence of children,” they should ban assault weapons — not healthcare.

Instead, they’re using the power of the federal government to bully trans kids in bathrooms, schools, and now doctors’ offices.

🚨BAD BILL ALERT🚨
The House is debating Marjorie Taylor Greene's bill to CRIMINALIZE healthcare for young trans people to a vote. If this becomes law, doctors—and in some cases even parents—could be imprisoned for providing medically-necessary care to young trans people.

"[Republicans] would rather have us focus in and debate a misunderstood & vulnerable 1% of the population instead of focusing in on the fact that they are raiding everyone's healthcare in order to pay for tax breaks for the wealthiest 1%."

For more than 20 years, the US has led the international HIV response.

But the complete dismantling of USAID and global health funding will lead to millions of additional infections and has already led to hundreds of thousands of deaths.

The House will vote on 2 bills attacking trans youths' access to healthcare this week: one to prohibit Medicaid from covering this care & one to threaten doctors—and in some cases, parents—with prison.

These choices should be up to parents, patients, and doctors—not politicians.
