More recently, in 2024, @repscottpeters.bsky.social secured $1.5 million in federal funding for a shelter that serves LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness in San Diego—an incredible accomplishment that has now positively impacted countless lives.
When the San Diego Housing Commission needed help getting funding for a shelter to serve homeless LGBTQ+ youth, Rep. Peters helped secure $1.5 million for the project!

@repscottpeters.bsky.social has been fighting for LGBTQI+ equality his entire career. In 2015, he led an amendment to statutorily prohibit sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination by contractors in federal transportation and housing programs.

@quigley.house.gov was a leader in the fight to undo the FDA's lifetime ban on gay & bisexual men donating blood.

By 2015, the FDA did away with the lifetime bans and, in 2023, all blanket bans on the basis of sexual orientation were done away with under President Biden.
