Proudly Representing California's 39th District.
Secretary McMahon has used the Department of Education to discriminate against trans students. While we were both speaking in front of the Supreme Court, I told her yet again to stop these attacks and to restore the Department.

Today, CEC Chair @repmarktakano.bsky.social spoke outside the Supreme Court as the Justices heard two cases with major ramifications for the rights of trans people.

He concluded with a simple message for the young trans people being targeted by politicians:

"You matter. You are not alone."

It is our responsibility as Americans to acknowledge the basic fact: that trans people exist and matter. @equality.house.gov

Big companies trap consumers in recurring subscriptions they never wanted, then make them nearly impossible to cancel.

That’s why I’m co-leading the Unsubscribe Act with @repmarktakano.bsky.social to require clear billing and simple cancellation.

The Supreme Court must recognize the dignity and existence of trans students and provide them the same opportunities as their peers — that includes sports. @equality.house.gov

Congress cannot be complicit in Trump's hostile takeover of the Fed. EVERY Republican must join in ensuring the Fed stays independent and our country's economic future is left to professionals, not Trump. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/11/u...

This senseless, state-funded violence stains the moral fabric of our nation. Renee Nicole Good's memory must be honored by demanding accountability from ICE and those empowering their lethal tactics.

President Trump is once again acting like a king. He just overthrew the Venezuelan government, dragging us into yet another foreign intervention without Congress’s approval. Republicans need to grow a spine and join us in demanding oversight and checking this imperial president.

Rep. MTG just announced that her bill to JAIL parents & doctors who help young trans people access care will be brought up for a vote next week—instead of anything meaningful to avert the healthcare crisis the GOP created.

We're going to do everything we can to defeat this bill.

Republicans have created a healthcare crisis and now want to put doctors in prison. This is an attack ALL Americans should be against to save healthcare for millions of people.

I joined @mcbride.house.gov and @repmarktakano.bsky.social in a letter to Speaker Johnson condemning the rise in anti-transgender rhetoric and urging him to uphold the rules of decorum as Members engage in debate. There is no place for the use of slurs or harmful rhetoric in the People's House.

The President is targeting members of Congress for reminding our military of their obligation to the Constitution. This moment requires everyone — including Republicans — to lower the temperature and call out this violent rhetoric.

During the GOP shutdown, Secretary Collins REMOVED a PACT Act presumptive for male breast cancer—stripping some veterans of their earned benefits. Ranking Member @repmarktakano.bsky.social will not let this go unchecked. Our veterans deserve better.

This Congress, there's been a disturbing rise in the use of dehumanizing anti-trans rhetoric, including slurs, by US Representatives.

That's why today, @mcbride.house.gov & @repmarktakano.bsky.social led 213 Members demanding Speaker Johnson condemn this rhetoric & enforce House rules of decorum.

I will vote NO on the Senate’s so-called “deal.” It does nothing to fix the GOP’s healthcare crisis that’s sending costs skyrocketing. Democrats should not reward Republicans for their cruelty or their failure to govern.
