Even if Bovino gets fired, ICE has to go.
Even if Noem is out, ICE has to go.
Even when Trump leaves office, ICE has to go.

As protests grow and ICE's popularity drops, we may see concessions and leadership changes, like Bovino's departure. ICE still has to go.

This isn't about "training issues." The murderer who executed Renee Good has been with ICE for 10 years, and according to DHS, the murderer who executed Alex Pretti has been there for 8 years.

These aren't "new recruits," or officers that can be "retrained." ICE can't be reformed. Abolish ICE.

This feels like Yale, which has somehow avoided the administration's attacks thus far, is actively baiting them. 🤔
In @yaledailynews.bsky.social - School of Management to honor university leaders at odds with Trump - Harvard Pres. Alan Garber and former UVA Pres. James Ryan will be honored with the award following their public resistance to White House attacks on universities

There are few things more disturbing than witnessing the government gun down your fellow citizen on a city street. The more Democrats share video of this, the more they alienate reasonable centrists.

Good stuff here.
Other folks have already noted much of this, but I think the MAGA 'theory of victory' here is:
1) DHS provocations trigger a riot or attack on agents which
2) Leads to widespread civil unrest in many 'blue' cities so that
3) Trump can invoke the insurrection act and send in the troops...
Curious if anyone has a plausible theory of victory for the administration if it were to invoke the Insurrection Act.

How does the administration "win" in such a scenario?

Best I can tell, it is magical thinking by a certain somebody at the White House, but maybe I'm missing something.

The people who are going to demand that we give them a round of applause for figuring it out 10-15 years too late is already annoying and it’s about to escalate from a trickle to a torrent.

Glad you made it; you could apologize to everyone you scolded or just take a seat instead of writing this.

It's true that when a government becomes tyrannical it is the duty of the citizens to overthrow it and form a new one. It's just that the people who have been saying it in my lifetime have been saying it in response to stuff like the existence of Hannukah, and Black people, and the Spanish language.

Our country was founded on independence — aspirational and clumsily attempted as it was — and has been sullied by this sort of servile, vapid Dick Wolfish law enforcement worship.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

This is where we are.
The official policy of the government of the United States of America is that they will murder anyone they want, that they will tell any lie necessary to justify that murder, and that no one who resists them has any rights they are bound to respect.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

Arrest him and open a murder investigation. Anything less is just bloviating.
I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.

The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

I get so tired of seeing people be called communists.
Do you know, that not one country in this world has ever been communist. Never. They’ve been called it yes. But not one has ever lived the ideology. Many countries had “Communist”parties. But they weren’t actually communist.

@tressiemcphd.bsky.social with the wisdom. Volunteer work has been grounding amidst the onslaught. Helping patients safely access care at Planned Parenthood, helping an Afghan refugee become a citizen, helping seniors stay independent, are small acts of resistance and community.
This is such valuable advice and put plainly. Please take a moment.
