Was thinking about the implications in these pages esp in light of what Yoshida just did in the last couple chapters and his way of toeing the line, never crossing it, him sharing this with Asa while being an extension of PS and control in his attempts to put Denji on a leash.

Ok this reframes a few things in terms of alliance, Death and Famine were aware of Denji's transformation into Pochita following Yoshida's visit. And Fumiko is aware of Death's true identity, so at some point PS's priorities may have shifted from Death to War (If we assume Ysd and Fmk are still

if anything it was extremely elucidating both for fumiko’s character but also what Fujimoto is saying with Denji’s current descent into single minded fixation on sexuality

I have so much more appreciation of her character now.
Fumiko sees herself as Parts to be used by public safety. It makes so much sense then for her to view denji, fellow property of the state, in the same way, reflecting back a frustration she isn’t able to otherwise sublimate onto him.
