In addition to being brachycephalic, tremarctine bears' skulls possess well developed zygomatic arches and glenoid mandibular fossas,[11] a premasseteric fossa on the mandible and often an entepicondylar foramen on the humerus.

Maximum obstruction seems to be the only way to send a message. Please consider withholding support in even routine votes. I have appreciated what you've done so far.

Hundreds of protestors are on the march from the ICE office in downtown Atlanta to the Georgia State Capitol building. They are calling anti-Trump slogans after ICE officers killed a woman in Minneapolis on Wednesday and shot two more in Portland on Thursday.

@repnikema.bsky.social Please consider leaving Twitter/X. It's got CSAM generated by AI with few voices denouncing and removing themselves from it. The platform is not worth this anymore.

Thank you for your healthcare vote today.

I've never read any of these, and this structure through the year, similar to The Power Broker 2 years ago, was really helpful and encouraging. If you want to read some classics for all their highs and lows plus get rewarded with fun and thoughtful conversation along the way, join me!
With a knock on your door, a kindly wizard invites you to join us on Shelved By Genre's LORD OF THE YEAR, in which we will consider the popular but contested works of JRR Tolkien, kicking things off with a long rumination upon the first four chapters of THE HOBBIT: rangedtouch.com/2026/01/02/t...

And they’ll say they can’t be held accountable because when they pulled the trigger they were afraid for their lives. Their lives which they spent serving an ideology of fear, a machine of fear, a holistic regime of fear. A culture-spanning engine of the ugliest and most dishonest fears there are.
Any one of us could be shot or kidnapped because an ICE agent doesn’t like the look of us. Are you prepared to be murdered in cold blood while “news” sources repeat the claim you were “weaponizing your vehicle” trying to leave your driveway? They want you to accept that. They want to make it normal

I've watched thousands of videos from the Jan. 6 riot as part of NPR's reporting and archive project on that day.

Here are some of the lesser known videos that have really stuck with me.

No, and thank you for pointing me to them. I saw this as a repost and didn't catch there were more. I appreciate that you went deeper into your reasoning than anyone else I saw yesterday.

I also apologize for replying without full context. Since I'm a human, hopefully that means something!

I've seen nothing but attacks about this bad framing, but very little as to reasons why. What is the more accurate subject of the headline? Software engineers? Musk? It's the obscuring that feels the most frustrating to me.

The wheel turns; the summer ends.
The light departs, the cold descends,
And we are left to hold the light
Against the cold and longest night.

The wind that howls around the door,
The tracks of snow upon the floor.
Reach for your loves and hold them tight
Against the cold and longest night.
