I find that hilarious dubious considering Google also supposedly does that and they still flagged my professional email, which only receives emails from job sites, academic journals, and archaeological societies 💀 clearly I am a 12yo in disguise

Yeah, I get that. So many SNS giants have risen and fallen over the years, and it's always kind of a gut-punch to realize that you can just have all the little voices in your phone yanked away. People and social connections aren't meant to be so impermanent, it's not how our brain works

When it comes to laws or companies doing this age verification stuff I just gotta point out that companies are bad enough, but the state essentially saying what you are and are not allowed even to look at and who you can and can't talk to ought to be pretty frightening.

also I mentioned this in a convo yesterday, but they don't have a restrictive NSFW policy in their CG/TOS like most other chat/discord alternatives, so that's a huge draw for a lot of people

I am! Open-source, EU-based, and GDPR compliant. It's still in development so there are some things that make it less of an easy switch rn (like no ios app) but it seems like this discord debacle is sending a lot of people their way, so I'm guessing it'll ramp up their dev schedule
