I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.
And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.

I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

I dunno who needs to hear this right now, but lady friendships with other women when you both have unlearned patriarchy are 100/10 the best thing in the world.
Friendships where you cheer each other on instead of competing, and root for each other's growth and successes constantly. Pure Bliss.
