1. You feel powerless? Don’t know what you can do to resist the rise of fascism?
Here is an answer: Good Things.
Fascism inflicts pain and harm as a matter of doctrine.
Kindness, care and conviviality defend us from it.
The more we build community, the less it can take root.

Big #beaver news! 🦫📸 Our first camera trap footage of the new beaver pair at the Old River Bed is here! They’re cleaning themselves—a key behaviour that keeps their fur waterproof using oils from their castor glands. Plus, grooming helps strengthen their mated bond 💛

Elon Musk is not the richest man in the world; men who live at home with their partner and children who love them experience riches he couldn't imagine.

Trump’s first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up.

It was rather surreal to see the remains of a ducking stool today in St Peter's Church, Myddle. Described as 'The Oldest Known remedy for evil tongues'. It was often used against 'unquiet women' and witches. They were dunked in nearby Marton Pool. This one dates from the 1660s.

It's been snowing in the UK and the road gritters are out in force, begging the question:
Have you ever wondered where that grit actually COMES from?
The answer is more magical, beautiful and fascinating than you probably realised.

Had a brilliant lunch with @francescrook.bsky.social & others at Brixton Prison's Clink restaurant today, staffed by serving prisoners. Delicious food, and a good opportunity to interact with the humans usually 'out of sight, out of mind'. Shown to reduce reoffending. Society needs more of this.

This #poverty is the most fundamentally important determinant of health and in the case of our children their future life chances .. this should be the government’s number one #publichealth priority if we’re serious about reducing health inequalities.. needs action not rhetoric!

We really need a kinder world...not a less kind one. Talk to Trans people, build understanding, learn to be an ally because if this trend continues they are really going to need supportive friends
Pretty striking from the British Social Attitudes Survey: In 2016, 58% of Brits supported trans people's right to change their legal sex; by 2022 that number had halved to just 31%
