Looks like this is real. About 40% of the flight at 8k feet, then bumped up to 10k, and then finally went up higher, but only to 20k feet. Much slower than normal flight and likely burned a lot more fuel. But the view out the window was probably impressive.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald used to make me cry when I heard it on the radio, but the Gordon Lightfoot song "Black Day In July" never played on the radio. There's a reason for that.

When I was in 2nd grade my dad started a Halloween tradition of reading spooky stories. He started with The Black Cat by Eager Allen Poe. It's part The Raven, part Tell Tale Heart. It's a story where a guy gets jealous of his wife's pets so he axe murders her and all her pets save one black cat.

This year for halloween we are giving out boxes of mac and cheese, granola bars and gold fish crackers. Growing up in Detroit, some of my classmates would trick or treat just so they could eat that night. It's going to be worse this year.

When I realized my freshmen high school history prof was on the right I started writing essays to his views and started getting As. By the end of the year he tried to hug me and compliment my growth.
One teacher told us “apartheid was good for S Africa;” another lectured that FDR “ruined the country” by making Americans “lazy;” yet another wld force us to watch Alan Greenspan lectures and preface them by saying “now that’s a smart Jew” (the teacher ofc was not Jewish)
