Because of my atomic starburst fixation eBay is always showing me these funky midcentury pans with embossed textures, and I DO want them, but so far they’ve also all been funky midcentury sizes

This is oddly specific but this guy looks like a new kid at school on Carl the Collector
The Fitzwilliam has one of the funniest faience hedgehogs in their collection. Something about this little face is so funny and almost modern in a way, it makes me laugh every time I see it.

One of Willie’s friends came over to trick-or-treat with us and he came with both parents and an uncle, which seemed like a lot but it turns out 4 adults to 2 toddlers with Trick/Or-Treat Madness is about right actually

we finally got a fall front and it's sooooo nice out today but a reminder, I guess, that it's all in your perspective: the other mom who drops off her kid at the same time I do was talking about how freezing cold it was and asked me "does it SNOW here??" with trepidation

my only note on the Aunt Discourse is that in college I worked at a tutoring center where virtually all the other tutors, and all the managers, were Indian and I felt warmly included when my boss asked me to please call her Latha Auntie like everyone else in the building did

by the time I caught up to this post it was too late to comment so I'll tell you guys instead: a couple years ago I reconnected with a college friend I'd lost touch with, and we were talking about a book we both liked, and I had to admit that "my" copy of that book is the one he lent me in 2003

my plea to recipe websites: I understand why you don't want infinite filter options to slice your recipes down to categories of 1 or 2, and it's not that there is no value in knowing that your coleslaw and your lemon bars are vegetarian also, but consider: "vegetarian mains"
