Watched Deliverance on BBC4 tonight for the first time in decades.First saw it as a kid on a Friday night when my folks were working. The image of the hand rising out of the lake has stayed with me for nearly 50 years.

I've always found performative politics in press conferences are the worst kind of tiresome, self serving/indulgent and ultimately counterproductive exercises. They never reflect well on those who go down this route. It just reeks of desperation.
