i once had a dream that i invaded hell to rescue my childhood pet iguana, only to discover she didn’t want to leave. people said “why would an iguana leave a heat source like hell” and it all made sense
my favorite past time when talking to much younger men is to give them advice on wooing women that is really just care and feeding instructions for iguanas

Merry Christmas! I got you 11 extra seconds of daylight. Sunset was at 4.57pm. It's not a lot, but sit for 11 seconds and feel every one. It'll get faster, every day!

you don't suck at art. you're learning. you aren't an awful writer, you're still understanding how things work. You aren't horrible, you see the places in your work that have space for improvement. Even if you think your art isn't the best, you still created something and you should be proud of that

We need to emphasize: no one is saving money from survival funds. For these six families & a camp, each day is an emergency, between numerous health emergencies and deadly winter rains approaching yet again this weekend.

Keep Hope Alive: a Gaza Giving Circle
We are a team of volunteers in the US and UK, led by two sisters passionate about helping our friends on the ground keep their families and neighbors alive with food, water, & shelter. We saw that…

ICE agent recognized out Christmas shopping—throws tantrum when citizens profile him.

"We're trying to prevent you from kidnapping our neighbors," they say.

"I'm not doing anything but walking, leave me alone!" he yells.

"Not right now you're not—but the past 5 days you have."

I've been having my yearly rewatch of Angels in America and there is a point of relation there with this poem and loving without forgiveness
But then we get this poem…🖤

“I too, having lost faith
in language have placed my faith in language.”

the post office is a place where perceived status, wealth, and whiteness don't get you what you want, and you have to wait in line like everyone else for a black woman with authority to consider your request

I love that about it and it's exactly why the usual whiners hate it
