I just learnt about the 24/7 webcam of a Namibian watering hole and think you should, too.

Right now there was a weird animal sound and 6 zebras just bolted, leaving a bemused looking warthog wallowing in the mud and some bison-type things serenely ignoring it all.

Twitter is like a stadium show where half the people are rioting, the sound is spotty, they broke the fire code, someone sat in your assigned seats and punched you when you asked them to get up. And after all that, the band sucks.

When you leave, you check to see that you still have your wallet.

Nbd, they are just calling folks who survived Covid in 2020 back for further assessment. I'm sure it's fine. I'm sure it's OK to just let this virus rip unabated throughout society

A reminder once again that Bluesky WILL NOT promote bad actors onto people's timelines because there's no centralized algorithm. If you want to prevent bigots from spreading their hate, REPORT, BLOCK, MOVE ON.

Do not reply to them. Do not quote them. Do not screenshot them. Cut off their exposure.

Just saw a book with a title that perfectly encapsulates public health C0VID policy:

"Reality is what you can get away with"

I'm pretty sure that this is now also the official title of the pandemic playbook (assuming one still exists...).

The government oversold the benefits of the vaccines so you'd go back to normal and do all the maskless stuff that stimulates the economy. Vaccines don't stop you from getting Covid/ Long Covid, and Covid is nothing like the flu. The only way to stay safe right now is to wear a mask (N95/KN95).
