After a bird flu outbreak tore through Midwestern barns, killing millions of chickens and spiking egg prices, the federal government didn’t investigate if the virus was airborne.

So ProPublica did.

Absolutely terrifying reporting from @natlash.bsky.social:

What the U.S. Government Is Dismissing That Could Seed a Bird Flu Pandemic
Egg producers suspect bird flu is traveling through the air. After a disastrous Midwestern outbreak early this year, we tested that theory and found that where the wind blew, the virus followed. Vacci...

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

This is your regular reminder that Covid is airborne.

It’s not over. It’s still killing and disabling people.

It’s a novel virus and we still don’t know the full long term effects, but what we do know is not encouraging.

Wear a mask. Clean the air. Stay home when sick.

Protect one another.

‘They have a 50 state strategy’: PragerU’s ‘insidious’ alternative to PBS hits U.S. classrooms
PragerU has found an ally in the White House and is presenting itself as the “conservative” option to PBS. The media company currently has partnerships with 10 states but MSNBC’s Antonia Hylton, who has long reported on PragerU, warns that the company has a bigger plan. PragerU has found their biggest champion in Oklahoma, but “we don’t need PragerU to come in and tell us how to teach our kids,” says State Rep. and social studies teacher John Waldron.

People often ask me if I’m ever going to stop wearing my mask.

They ask in such an exasperated tone, as though my mask is infringing upon their lives in some way.

I like not being sick. If I had known how effective respirators were before COVID, I would have worn them before!
