It’s worth keeping in mind that nowhere in the record has Garcia Abrego ever been accused of a discrete criminal act. The double hearsay allegation made by an informant to a corrupt cop is of gang “membership”, a kind of ontological state of criminality that is assigned by the state to men of color.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.
