I like cities and electric cars and the eagles.

Everyone in Philly should enjoy banana pudding from Sweet Life on South Street.

No affiliation I just have a habit
In and around Philly (PECO service) if you can charge at home either in a garage, driveway, or curbside - you can switch to a Time of Use plan that’s about 4 cents per kWh to charge from 12am - 6am.

It’s so ridiculously cheap.
we charge our hyundai ioniq 5 around once every two to three weeks at a muncipal charger and i’d say it runs about $9 for 250 miles of range.

Me, to a random member of the public who called me at work:
I’m actually leaving so here’s a phone number
Him: oh wow
Me: yeah, 19 years is a good run
Him: do you have kids?
Me: yeah
Him: are you gonna stay home and take care of them?

Me: what!? No!

It’s always temporarily confusing when you hear a long O cheer that sounds like a boo (Deuuuuuuce, Cooooooppo) but when the Eagles make a good tackle and you hear a boo… but you’re away… but it’s Tampa and there are more Eagles fans there than Bucs…

It takes a minute

My 7 year old, who is playing in the basement alone, just noticed my laundry being done in the dryer. A small load of white towels, not related to him or his clothes.

He took it out and carried it upstairs to me just because “I heard it beep”

Yous guys…. 🥹

I am 41 years old with a torn labrum of my left hip and zero gymnastics experience.

My 7 year old is learning to do a handstand. He begs me to do them too.

“Hey Siri, remind me to incessantly beg my child to do handstands in 30 years.”

No, for real, though, here’s my proposal:

As soon as you crest into $1 billion, we throw you a party, congratulate you for winning the game, and then we build a bunch of affordable housing and you wake up tomorrow in an apartment with $1000 to your name.

When you win the game, it resets.

I have seen three freaking social media posts this week describing a Philly intersection as “Named Street and Numbered Street” and I’m about to start throwing elbows 🤬🤬🤬

Me: I wonder if you’ll have kids someday
My 7 Yo son: I probably will, but it depends on the person because the woman is the one who has to get pregnant (motions a big belly) and go through all that pain so really it’s up to her

Me: couldn’t be effing prouder 🥹

Kids get super fixated.

My 7 year old has been trying to learn a handstand and listening to Katy Perry non stop.

I will hear Dark Horse about 1,345 more times before he moves on and never wants to listen to her again.

I wore a real bikini on the beach today, rather than my mom uniform tankini. It was flowery and frilly and I had a matching long shirt coverup.

Asking my 7 year old what he thought (I’m so casual, he always compliments me when in a dress….) he said “I’m gonna tell you one thing, you look sexy”

1. History isn’t there to be liked or disliked.
2. History is there to be learned from.
3. History offends you? Even better. Then you’re less likely to repeat it.

It’s that simple.

Parent of a 7 year old here and yes! It’s the cars.

I biked all over creation in the 90s in my not-very-good Philly neighborhood bc it was mostly one way streets.

Our “better” (more expensive) zip now has a 12 lane highway right next to us. People exit at 40mph and speed right through.

Nope.
Its the cars. Where can they go that they don't have to interact with drivers? I biked for pleasure for most of my life and gave it up when my kids could start because city biking in Houston is insanely dangerous and I don't want them to do it. Everything they want to go to is way too far to walk
"Most of the children in our survey said that they aren’t allowed to be out in public at all without an adult. Fewer than half of the 8- and 9-year-olds have gone down a grocery-store aisle alone; more than a quarter aren’t allowed to play unsupervised even in their own front yard."

I can’t believe in 2025 people still think if you buy an EV you’ll need a new battery for $20k in a few years 🤦🏻‍♀️

EVs have a lower maintenance cost, period.

My 2014 EV, which we just said goodbye to, had its original battery still and that was long before today’s better battery tech.
