People can dance around it all they want but even by whatever standards you want to apply to SNK games COTW did not do well at all, and the multitude of reasons for that are extremely obvious. It's not the public's fault that SNK failed to understand their audience.

I am glad to see someone else bring this point up, because "Fatal Fury is a niche IP it was never going to sell well" is a form of cope I find particularly obnoxious. Guilty Gear was also a niche IP before 2021. SamSho was a niche IP and was one of SNK's best sellers.

I think one of my biggest pet peeves is when 'X' is bad and people start implying that there's another piece of media that exists that does the same thing as 'X', "but better" or "it's not like the things you could do in X can't be done in Y, it replicates the same feelings and ideas!" etc
