In case you missed it, Kerry Brown wrote a book that plagiarized Shelley Rigger’s classic book title.

I, along with others who were asked to review Kerry’s manuscript, said verbatim to change the title.

In the most tacky and unprofessional fashion, he stole her title anyway.

We take no joy criticising a young left-wing UK political figure who has often spoken up for workers' rights and progressive causes. But these barely coherent comments from Zarah Sultana on Ukraine sum up much of what is wrong with her wing of the left www.instagram.com/reel/DQT62ys...

Every New York hip hop figure w the sole exception of 50 cent is so incredibly corny. Christopher walken’s frank white is also his worst role. Possibly ever. Yes, I want all the smoke.

I've tried to theorize this impulse as a "refusal of coevalness." I think anthropologists are often especially bad at dealing with this for reasons that have a lot to do with the way we justify the legitimacy of our methods. But we should take it seriously:

Wary of the ‘denial of coevalness’ associated with earlier anthropology, anthropologists at the turn of the millennium increasingly emphasized how sharing not just space but also time is constituti...

Really incredible story unraveling in this thread, where Amazon and other sites have seemingly been able to sell an academic textbook that was withdrawn in 2021 and never actually printed or published, without the knowledge of the press, editors or contributors. Something has gone deeply wrong!
Hi Chloe,
This is news to me (and to my editor at Routledge.) I'm shocked to find this out. I assume that this is somehow a pirated edition. Does it include the section on Neurodiversity? Part VIII?

What can a box of old love letters reveal about history, hope, and migration? In this essay, Suvi Rautio reflects on 1950s correspondence between her Chinese grandfather and Finnish grandmother—intimate artefacts that trace a cross-border romance and the idealism of a shared socialist future.
‘My Dear Chi’: Love Letters at the Dawn of the Mao Zedong Era
On 23 March 1953, Armi wrote a letter from Helsinki to her fiancé in Paris, whom she referred to as Chi, informing him of their banns of marriage made at the church the day before. Armi and Chi had me...

I'd wager one hundred doubloons this guy is an oxbridge midwit. on the contary! we cannot solve the big LLM crisis by making everyone wear a gown and locking them in a room
I have a simple solution to this. Grade students entirely by means of three hour hand-written exams in a big hall with no computers. If they all fail because they never learned to write without AI, sucks to be them
“Massive numbers of students are going to emerge from university with degrees, and into the workforce, who are essentially illiterate…Both in the literal sense and in the sense of being historically illiterate and having no knowledge of their own culture, much less anyone else’s.”

whats the over/under on the total number of people in a canonically irregular traditionalist Catholic priestly fraternity that shall not be named praying a rosary for this to happen rn (the answer is 2.5)
Despite seeing several people I totally trust say this was real I still felt I had to verify it with my own eyes. And having done so I still can't believe it's real.
