Just finished this amazing book by the talented Xiaolu Guo while wiping tears. What an epic journey that the brave and sensitive Ishmaelle/ Ishmael has taken us on. I never imagined that I would learn so much about seafaring, about whaling, about nautical nuances from a novel! Bravo!

Just finished this amazing book by the talented Xiaolu Guo while wiping tears. What an epic journey that the brave and sensitive Ishmaelle/ Ishmael has taken us on. I never imagined that I would learn so much about seafaring, about whaling, about nautical nuances from a novel! Bravo!
