2025 was a year where personally I went through loss of a beloved family member and I got to welcome in a new family member. In April our beloved Eddie passed away from heart failure. I grieved him every day. But in September we were able to welcome Yeon-ja in our family and home. She is so blessed.

Jeff Crank, my Congressman it’s not surprising to see this statement. He’s just another partisan Republican akin to another Republican politician in 2003, saying that we should overthrow the regime of country we don’t like and impose our will in that country.
CO GOP Rep Jeff Crank, who serves on armed services, praised Trump, writing he’s “doing a tremendous job at ensuring America is safer from foreign drug lords who wish to inflict harm on our citizens.”

Moulton: "The parallels with Iraq are unmistakeable. Bush said there was WMD in Iraq. Turns out that was a lie. Trump just made up fentanyl being WMD, which doesn't even come from Venezuela, just to justify this war. We said this wasn't about regime change, but it is."

The W Bush administration constantly denied that oil was a major motivation for their wars in the Middle East and it was literally a scandal when documents confirmed how big a factor oil was.

But Donald just goes ahead and nonchalantly says it out loud with Venezuela.
Trump says Venezuela's oil wealth "goes also to the United States of America in the form of reimbursement for the damages caused us by that country"

Umm, are they unfamiliar with the Bay of Pigs?

So much for America first.
"So we're going to stay until such time as we're going to run it essentially, until such time as a proper transition can take place." So we basically run the country?

When you have a sitting United States Senator saying that Congress should have no role or no right to be informed then that says everything you need to know why the United States Congress has been so weak as an institution. Not good at all for our Constitutional Republic for America’s 250th.
Tom Cotton: "Congress isn't notified when the FBI is going to arrest a drug trafficker or cyber criminal here in the US, nor should Congress be notified when the executive branch is executing arrests on indicted persons. And that's really what you can make the analogy to here."

As if Dems respect the Constitution.
There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits the president from taking military action. Congress has the power of the purse and can cut off funding, as was done during in Vietnam. - Levin
Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., says Trump’s military action in Venezuela is “unauthorized.”

“Where will this go next? Will the President deploy our troops to protect Iranian protesters? To enforce the fragile ceasefire in Gaza? To battle terrorists in Nigeria? To seize Greenland or the Panama Canal?”

Statements like these essentially prove the point how toothless our Congress is. They have let the executive branch run roughshod over and over again for nearly twenty five years. When Congress finally acts instead of saying stuff, then the executive will get the memo.
Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., says Trump’s military action in Venezuela is “unauthorized.”

Like what? Are we going to invade Mexico now? Are we going to try to overthrow their government? The last time we invaded Mexico they gave us the Southwest and all of California. We don’t need another Mexican war.
❗️"Mexico is run by the drug cartels. We will have to do something about Mexico," – Trump.

Iranians have been through so much under the Ayatollah regime. They deserve a government that serves them well. I hope they succeed in overthrowing the tyrannical regime in charge. It would also send a message to the Russians that Putin isn't invincible.
🇮🇷 Large-scale protests against the government in Iran.

According to local sources, millions of Iranians have already joined the protests against the political authorities.

14/ There remains a long way ahead in the peace negotiations. After that will come the production of the very difficult implementing details and then the actual execution of withdrawals. The potential for flare ups in fighting in this phase will be very real. But we are some way from this.

9/ In Putin’s eye’s, a successful Ukraine provides a model of democratic governance to the Russian people that Putin cannot tolerate. And, we know exactly how Russia uses cheap power prices against its neighbours.

8/ This is an amazing statement. Putin, in multiple speeches in the past four years has described exactly the opposite. He does not believe Ukraine is a real country, and he very much does not want Ukraine to succeed.

52/ Ukraine has shown again it can endure territorial loss without losing the war. Even in 2025, Russia paid staggering human costs for gains that amounted to less than one percent of Ukrainian land. Terrain can be retaken and lives cannot.

51/ We don't expect the diplomatic yap to achieve anything that is "good" for Ukraine, and we don't expect Russia to go for a diplomatic option unless it cripples Ukraine and tears it apart for easy pickings in future - Zelenskyy would be better off putting his efforts into bolstering his country.

50/ In summary, we won't say "There's plenty of war left" for 2026 this time

We can both see the critical weaknesses in both sides from a lack of manpower that isn't getting fixed on the Ukrainian side to the huge casualties and economic woes on the Russian side which also isn't getting fixed
