Agents took his phone, which he tracked to a used electronics vending machine near an ICE detention center.

Yes: ICE is stealing and selling people’s things after brutalizing them. There are no words.

There's SO much wrong w/that DHS video from a theological perspective—going back to soteriology. When we made Jesus a passive scapegoat & victim to excuse people who intellectually assent to the "right" beliefs, we became Rome & made God Incarnate into a tool of Empire. 1/2

This is the law in their dreams of a new America. I do not write US, they want a new America. And then they want to reign like in the Third Reich. No one accountable for crimes under the oath for the regime. I am German and we saw this before.

I teach in a small seminary—our class sizes are always small, but I've got more students in my classes this term than I've had since before COVID!

It's exciting, and it also means I'll be reading a significantly bigger stack papers in that one week between the end of the term & start of the next...

Prepping for my class which starts on Monday, & thought the nice glow of Christmas lights, a little incense, plenty of caffeine, & some soft Christmas music would help, but I still have ADHD, sadly. (That just means I’m not as focused as I’d like to be, but I am getting the work done.)
