My poems in the gallery at Grosse Pointe Congregational Church. The wheelbarrow poem is my response to Marguerite Carlton’s photo.

🙄 Oh Adobe. Even my ADHD brain doesn't think 15 pages is that long.

It's an academic article, not a business memo.

What else would you do on a Sunday afternoon?

(Currently letting WD-40 soak into old bolts that likely haven’t budged since 2008.)

Miss ya, dad.

I lost my dad to Alzheimer's six years ago today.
Easy to remember—it's Michaelmas.
We buried him on St. Francis' Day.

Really fascinating (and I’d never heard of a green jay! How gorgeous!) but this paragraph amused me. Wild bird won’t “cooperate” with being captured—would you?

I don’t remember what I was looking at or why, but this amused me.

I ask to order a stapler.
I’m told there’s one behind the photocopier, and it “looks like a nice one.”

The Sleepy Potato.

No idea what it is.

My last (and only) pantoum ("40") had a different rhyme scheme, but here's how it would fill in in this spreadsheet. I'd only have to type out half the lines.

It's actually nothing special, just this (in formula audit view):

This is her happy place.

(Taking care of a friend’s cats, & this one thinks I’m terrifying.)

The mulberry tree’s in the other neighbor’s yard, but also leans over my fence. This is the tree I parked under.

To me, seeing individually packaged pickles on the shelf in a gas station fit that bill.

I've been putting off getting a new headshot for too long, and needed one for our academic catalog ASAP. Luckily, I was able to have a coworker do it today, but yesterday I had suggested using this. My colleagues knew I was joking, but said they thought I should go ahead & use it. I will not.

"Abraham Entertaining the Three Angels (Genesis 18:1-15)," attributed to Francesco Lamarra (Italian 1710–80)

Genesis fails to mention the entertainment was a stand-up routine:

I feel like this photo (from Zillow) is missing a crash-test dummy.

This seems odd.

Detroit's coded for a mild thunderstorm, while across the river, Windsor is coded extreme.

Is it the Joe Louis fist we have aimed south toward Canada that's keeping their storm away? Or am I just reading this wrong? (Key is in lower RH corner)

Also, FWIW, here's my take on the indomitable human spirit:

I don't know why they put the "next" in there. Wednesday is 3 days away. "Next" makes it feel like such a long time. Then again, so does this heat.
