This is outrageous. Republicans are blocking every single Democratic amendment that would make the voucher bill even slightly less devastating for our public schools.

This is straight out of Project 2025 — an authoritarian takeover of our state is happening before our eyes. #txlege

I have been told that the Voucher Scam bill is going to move forward because there "haven't been any real complaints from the public."

REPUBLICANS are saying that they CAN'T HEAR YOU!

Tell them to STOP stealing from working families to give handouts to the rich!
People in even super-deep-red districts are catching on to Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s robbery of the American people.

This is getting good.

Costs for bilingual and special education would largely be concentrated in the new district to the west of the Denton Highway in the event of a split of Keller ISD, according to an email received through an open records request.

While state funding follows the students, according to a third-party financial report, so do the expenditures for services like bilingual and special education.

Data: White students make up a disproportionate percentage of private school enrollees. If finally successful, Abbott’s school voucher system will only drive these numbers higher. Vouchers won’t cover the cost of tuition at many private schools & POC are less likely to be able to make up the balance

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...

I’ve heard so many people in the RGV insist women haven’t been impacted post-Roe and SB8 and that these issues aren’t real. I can only hope these stories eventually saturate to the point people know the facts, and then hopefully care enough to demand change.
