I was reflecting this morning on why I love the cartographic community so much:

Map makers are often competent technology people but they have too much invested in art, the humanities and the sciences to ever be "techies."

Thousands of Londoners have indefinite leave to remain.

They have legal rights and are our friends, neighbours and colleagues, contributing hugely to our city.

Threatening to deport people living and working here legally is unacceptable.

Government has got this spectacularly wrong.

If an organisation is breaking the law, prosecute it.

But arresting people for holding up signs is a waste of police time, it's increasing support for the organisation &, above all, it's a flagrant violation of free speech.

Police say the majority of arrests were for displaying placards in support of the banned group.

Remember that viral story last week about Angela Rayner bulldozing allotments? Which even the allotment society somewhat debunked?

I looked into one of the sites and it’s wilder still: they are *increasing* the number of allotments, not cutting them. capx.co/angela-rayne...

It is astonishing that Trump didn't know when the US civil war ended -- primarily because he wrote such a brilliant, moving poem about Gettysburg, one that conveyed an overwhelming sense of a scholar's mind, laced with unparalleled knowledge of the conflict.

This lull in the first digital nuclear war—a pocket civil war in the United States—is likely caused by Musk huddling with his lawyers to determine whether Trump really can deport him as Trump’s generals (e.g., Bannon) are urging him to do.

Things are getting quite serious, now.
