- I don't know!! I only take eye exams when i start a new job so i'm in the "terrified of not passing" mode and i don't think what i'm doing!

I only pass eye tests like this because i vaguely memorize the letters with my better eye before the doctor tells me to switch to the weaker one D:
It's not like i can read the tiny blurry letter with my right eye - i just recall seeing it a second before with the left.

The eye exam is the perfect game design. That big E is a great tutorial that teaches you the basic mechanic. But it doesn't baby you and quickly gets hard as they introduce the small and blurry enemies.

(don't quote me on that - while there were several dream logs in The Book, i think the whole "apocalypse was a fever dream" might just be my headcanon and i'm misremembering if it was confirmed to be a dream :T)
