Just got gassed pretty good at the labor union anti-ICE protest in Portland. Massive march, 5-10k strong. Vibes were very much liberal rather than radical. Lots of kids and older folks.

This does not refute my point at all. Fact is, this is an unwanted “feature” that isn’t useful enough to get adopted without forcing it down users’ throats. Enshittification, pure and simple.

Consumer choice is a ‘wasted resource?’ The arrogance here is astounding. Basically saying “our product is too shitty to present a good value prop, but if we make it hard enough to avoid, it’ll work. Our customers are too dumb to understand.”

Yeah, that’s the problem. How is opt out more reliable in any sense? Opt in is “non-existent” because user xp is NOT more important than forcing unwanted enshittification to these companies.
