#neuroskyence folks: as my postdoc grant is running out soon, I am looking for new opportunities in systems neuroscience!

Keywords: patch clamp ephys, opto, mouse behavior, (in vivo) voltage imaging. Would love to return to the Basal Ganglia.

Sharing appreciated, and happy #FluorescenceFriday !

Today's #TraceTuesday also comes from Nic! This trace shows action potentials (spikes) from a retinal ganglion cell. Notice how the activity is much more slow compared to the cell from Adam a few weeks ago! 📈

Happy #MicroscopyMonday everyone! 🔬🧪 Today we have something a little bit different by Nic! In the video we can see the process she uses to clean the cells in order to patch them. 🐀

Today's #TraceTuesday comes from Adam! It shows a mature intrinsic lateral olivocochlear neuron (iLOC; a type of efferent neuron) firing lots of action potentials! These iLOCs contact with the type I afferent neurons that innervate the inner hair cells, but not much is known about them. 📈🧪

Starting things off today, we have a trace from Ivy, who is currently getting to grips with the art of patch-clamping! This trace shows the mechanoelectrical transduction (MET) current from a neonatal mouse outer hair cell. This is a great achievement for Ivy 🎉.

Great idea! Will be following these 👀
We're going to try and start something new today - #TraceTuesday! 📈

On #TraceTuesday we will showcase some pretty electrophysiology data from the lab.

As a journalism grad, I struggled with Git for YEARS. For longer than I’d like to admit, it felt easier to keep my code on Google Drive instead of GitHub. 😅

So I’m kicking off a new section on Code Like a Journalist all about Git and GitHub!

First lesson linked below — with more on the way! 👇
