Bluesky could be really good for local news, using feeds. With the decline in local newspapers, that would be a positive.

We KNOW facial recognition as it currently exists is poor at recognising non-white people. And we know humans interpreting those results are similarly biased. This awful result was wholly foreseeable.

Extremely funny how we keep doing pilots of this idea, it keeps working and instead of scaling it up we just do more pilots.
Fresh basic income pilot results, this time from Arlington, Virginia where 200 people got $500 a month for 2 years. The findings:

Employment INCREASED by 16%, and their incomes from paid work INCREASED by 37%. The control group saw no such gains.
