I think this was the most powerful testimony we’ve heard so far.
Seattle's long in-person public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan has officially kicked off.

First comments were from @ceceliablack.bsky.social: "As you're going through this Comp Plan, I would really hope you ask yourself what you would do if you were disabled tomorrow and you couldn't drive."

I’m having what I call an “emergency casual meeting” for everyone to discuss all things light rail. Budget cuts, station alignments, political intrigue!

Pop in any time after 5pm today with your questions and takes. I will be ready with a Seattle map and dry erase markers so let’s get into it!

Instead of “Katie is Seattle’s Mamdani” can we say she’s Seattle’s Wu? An Urbanist, a mom, and a successful and popular leader coasting to reelection. (Yes, I know she’s been iffy recently re: some bikelanes but overall I still like her!)

“‘These results […] show us that voters stand with our vision of Seattle’s future, a city with social housing, a city with that reliable public transit, universal child care, income to feel at home,’ Wilson said in her victory speech.”

With some potential exceptions, initial primary results look incredibly strong for progressives and housing champions across the entire region.

This is a clear act of misfeasance. Time for a recall.
The city's housing committee, headed by Mark Solomon (and previously Cathy Moore), was unable to meet officially today because committee members Sara Nelson and Rob Saka won't go to the meeting, denying the committee a quorum. Saka is currently sitting in his office.

Harrell has been the single biggest obstacle to light rail construction, wasting time and money granting his corporate donors’ requests to change station placement. Are you actually paying attention to what’s going on in your city?

Two years ago I interviewed a 31-year-old NY state assemblymember about a 7-year-old girl killed by an SUV driver in his district. I hung up the phone, astonished that I'd talked to a legislator who so thoughtfully articulated what actually needs to change on our streets.

He'll make a great mayor

I think The Stranger is confused. Lin voted 1B, so i’m unsure how that earns you the Slut for Progressive Revenue title. Also it’s spelled Fackler.
This one was lazy :/
Stranger appears to claim that D2 candidate Eddie Lin (who they endorsed) voted for 1A to fund social housing payroll tax. However, Lin has admitted that he actually voted for 1B, the Chamber-backed alt that would have undermined social housing.

Watching Claudia Balducci at work is witnessing someone at the top of their game.

Here's Balducci pushing Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell to revise the amendment he put forward that would have walked back Sound Transit's commitment to make changes to improve safety on Seattle's MLK Way.

@wilsonforseattle.bsky.social has my support.
She’s been fighting for working-class Seattleites for over a decade and a half, securing wins like the jumpstart tax and an increased minimum wage in Seattle & Tukwila. She’s also been a day 1 advocate of social housing. Let’s vote Bruce out yall🗳️

NOW: Hearing MLK Labor Council e board voted to award Mayor Bruce Harrell their sole endorsement. The delegates meet tonight and things could change, but if not, then big business and labor will team up to support the sweep-happy, progressive revenue robbing incumbent
