There's still a really large gap that AI systems need to cross, between retrieving and synthesizing existing knowledge accurately, and actually "creating new knowledge". Im extremely bullish on it getting the first part down eventually, and being incredibly useful. Still very skeptical on part 2.

i think we are really about to test the limits of the republican cult. a huge number of trump voters are about to be devastated, hungry and unable to access healthcare and if that doesn't break them then i give up but...idk man i think it might

Said this yesterday, but yeah. Shifted the debate onto better ground for Dems that doesn’t touch any real ideological fault lines for the coalition and onto a battle Republicans have tried to avoid bc they know it’s a losing battle
